PMalloy 21
Wear-resistant Fe-based alloy

Wear-resistant Fe-based alloy powder for surfacing of parts operated under abrasive wear. PMalloy 21 combines high wear resistance with high ductility. The unique combination of properties gives the possibility to carry out surfacing without preheating. This original powder is used successfully for extruder screws hardfacing.

Alloy characteristics:

1. Chemical composition:
2.2% C; 18% Cr; 3% Ni; 2% Mo; 9% V; 1% Si; 1% Mn; Fe - balance

3. Wear resistance
Resistance of PMalloy 21 against the abrasive wear in comparison with another alloys for surfacing is shown at Fig. 2.

4. Influence of release temperature

A specimen was exposed 1 hour and cooled on the air.

Properties of cladded material in dependence of release temperature are shown at Fig. 3 and 4.
